THE SHACK is a a great book. If you want to know what it's about read Sherr's Blog. She said it much better than I could have.
I'm reading the pick for our Library Book Club THE HEMINGWAY BOOKCLUB OF KOSOVO, or maybe it's called The Ernest Hemingway Bookclub of Kosovo. Anyway, it's about a woman's experience teaching English as a 2nd language in Prishtina, while her husband (a lawyer) works with with others to set up a fair legal system for this area. They both take a year off with no salary to come to this country and this experience. She writes email and keeps a journal while she is there and that is basically the book. It's an amazing read because it explains so much about the people and the horrible legacy of blood feuds-----and yet in all other respects they are a decent loving people. If you really want to understand why the people in The Balkans----the "old" Yugoslavia are the way they are in regards war and genocide etc., read this book.
Labor Day is over----I will be 60 on the 20th (GASP!) I've said it often enough this year (that I was turning 60) it should no longer be a shock or a stab in the gut. But there it is. One of my grandmom's and Dean's mother only lived to be 61 and 62. We are blessed to be living in this day and age. I am blessed to be here and turning 60.
After reading the Shack I look at my relationship to others differently. I really REALLY do feel blessed to have the friends and family that I do, which includes everyone who is reading this I know. I'm so glad you have YOU in my life. I am blessed. Thank You God.

I need to read that book too.. perhaps this weekend... hhhmmm
Relationships are key aren't they.
I love you too!
Can't belive you are going to be 60! You are so silly -- age is just a number you know....at times mine is unlisted!! :)
You go girl!!!
I remember your 50th party as I was blessed to be there! You are so blessed to be so young at heart (and physically) for 60. Sixty now is not the 60 of 30 years ago. You've got a lot of living (and reading) to do!
Love you!
60! That's so awesome. Are you having a big party?
I'd love to read and discuss books with you over coffee and I don't eve like coffee. :)
You're aces in my book!
Thanks for letting me know about the book club. I'm already anxious to find out what the next book will be. I think I've recruited another friend to join us as well.
I'm hearing about The Shack all over the place this week. I will defineately add it to my to read list.
60? Just tell people you are 70 then they will really think you look great. My mom also loves it when I add 10 years, makes her look better too. :)
